Hello and welcome to Vanilla Candles! My name is Kara Kelso, co-owner of this website. Together with my mother, Kyla Huffaker, we bring you quality soy wax candles at the best price possible.

The candles you see here and many other scents are also found at the main website, Prairie Soy Candles. Vanilla Candles was created based on the many requests for vanilla scents from our current customers at our main candle shop. Each candle made here is the exact same as what you will find on Prairie Soy Candles. The only difference is those who love only vanilla scents can easily locate their favorites and order faster.

Prairie Soy Candles was started in March 2005, and has quickly grown into more than just a hobby and love for candles. Vanilla Candles was created from Prairie Soy Candles in May 2006.

Candles are created by Kyla Huffaker (my mother) in the heart of Midwest in central Iowa. Orders, customer service, and website design is handled by myself. I live in Prairie City (hence the name "Prairie Soy Candles"), along with my two children and significant other.

My passion for building websites and creating businesses online started in December 2002, just after second child was born. I never wanted to be away from my children or have to miss important events in their lives. In February 2003, I began to sell candles for others online. Just a short 2 years later, my distributor went in a direction I didn't want to follow, so my mother and I began to make our own candles to sell.

We pride ourselves on personalization and great customer service in a world full of corporate corruption. Customers are treated with respect, kindness, and importance. You won't be put on hold, or told conflicting information from multiple customer service representatives. Returns are handled on a case by case matter (see our Ordering & Shipping information), and you aren't just another number to us. Although we've yet to have to handle any returns because of quality!
