Who are you?
Vanilla candles is a sister site of Prairie Soy Candles. Same owners, same candles, same quality. The only difference is this site features only our vanilla scented candles. The owners are Kara Kelso (daughter) and Kyla Huffaker (mother) who live in central Iowa. Click here to read more about us.

When did your business start?
Prairie Soy Candles was started in March of 2005. Vanilla Candles was started in May 2006 as a sister site.

Why only vanilla?
Vanilla is the most popular candle scent there is, and there are many candle lovers that like that scent alone. This site was created for those who only want to buy vanilla scents without having to sift through sites with tons of different types that have nothing to do with Vanilla.

Where can I find other scents?
While vanilla may be the most popular, there are others who love a variety of scents other than of vanilla. All of our scents (including ones that are here) can be found at our main website, Prairie Soy Candles.

What are your candles made from?
All the candles you see on Vanilla Candles and Prairie Soy Candles are made from only 100% soy wax and a small amount of beeswax. Fragrance oil in the scent of your choice is then added. The candles are free of blends, additives, and dyes. So you are only buying a clean, slow burning candle.

Do you change scents?
Yes, we are always adding and changing scents. To your right you will see information on our main newsletter, which will keep you up to date on new scents added here and at Prairie Soy Candles.

Are your candles handmade?
Yes, each candle is handmade by us (Prairie Soy Candles) when ordered. They are not mass produced or purchased from another company.

Are your candles all natural?
Nope. While we use all natural wax (100% soy and a small amount of beeswax), our fragrance oil is synthetic. Any candle store who says their candles are completely natural but use fragrance oil isn't telling the complete truth.

Are your candles "Triple scented" ?
Nope, no such thing. We add the maximum amount of scent we possibly can. Any more than the max would make the candle unsafe. "Triple Scented" is nothing more than a marketing gimmick.
